Bartosz Beda:
Aftermath of Echoes

On view March 19 to April 26, 2026
THE PROJECT SPACE AT AMOS ENO

Running concurrently from March 19 through April 26 in The Project Space gallery, Amos Eno’s experimental cellar space, is Aftermath of Echoes by Polish-born artist Bartosz Beda. This exhibition presents a series of Beda’s figurative abstractions that investigate the physical residue of moral consequence. Rooted in the artist’s Catholic upbringing in Poland and inspired by the visceral depictions of the Last Judgment at the Orvieto Cathedral in Italy, these works treat the canvas as a metaphysical ledger. Each portrait metaphorically represents a "white cloth" upon which the aftermath of life is marked.

Through intense textural buildup and fragmented figuration, the subjects’ faces are obscured by the traces of intention and error. Beda’s aggressive yet deliberate brushmarks function as a record of judgment, exploring how centuries of religious dogma continue to shape our collective psyche and asking what echoes remain when the physical body fades.
